Television Repair - Why Televisions Can Still Be More Expensive Than a TV Repair Service

In the last half of the 20th century the majority of television sets which most consumers are familiar with have been the traditional CRT screens. During the mid 1980s, as the demand for larger screens became louder, many manufacturers and consumers turned to rear projection models. Unfortunately picture quality at close distances was sacrificed in favor of a more movie theater-like experience. Now enters new high definition television.

As technologies in televisions evolve and improve so do the technical complexities of each individual component found within each television. Compared to traditional CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) television sets, high definition televisions such as plasma or LCD television repair may be more affordable to repair depending upon the problem. Although generally not able to match the image quality of high definition plasma or LCD televisions, rear projection televisions such as DLP and LCoS, can be exceptionally expensive to repair. One primary reason for the repair price discrepancy between HDTVs and traditional televisions is the availability of parts.

Now that plasma and LCD televisions have gained a strong foothold as mainstream technology, the past types of television models have quickly begun to diminish due to the decline of both the retail price point and the cost of the manufacturing of plasma and LCD TVs. As the capabilities of HDTV repair continue to improve, the majority of manufacturers have opted to discontinue producing CRT TVs and projection televisions in favor of superior video and the potential to realize greater profits.

With the proliferation of high definition, aging electronics used in CRT and projection sets are not being produced in any large quantity; if at all. The cost for these parts has increased due to diminished supply, but demand for a knowledgeable and experienced technician has increased even more. Unfortunately skilled television repair technicians are difficult to come by. Although more numerous in larger cities, many rural areas or small towns such as Trenton, NJ or Levittown, PA, may fall within a television repair company's service area.

Model # kv32f513 2002, it was flashing when I turned by chance, but it was only the Video, which was shut down, not the entire power supply was still on TV. Then fixed after about ten minutes or so, but now I cannot get any video to show up to a the inputs. I wanted to try to see if the timer is set and it was empty. Something I noticed when he was going on and was out of the standby / timer blinks 5 Times, then pause, then repeat. Its still doing it now actually. Anyone have any idea? I called the TV repair guy and his $ 100 just to diagnose it. MODEL # KV32FS13 first was wrong, I kept the S for a 5th Just remembered. I could see the "Menu Options" Fine, if the image stopped flashing. Perhaps the some rules.

3D tech gives TV a new dimension

When Mumbai-based Sunil Khatri went looking for a new TV, he was fascinated by 3D TVs, and the viewing experience those offered. But, one look at their price tags and the accompanying costs to buy 3D glasses for his family of six members convinced him to settle for a 40-inch high definition LED TV, which cost him Rs 42,000. “I was concerned about the steep price one had to dish out for a 3D TV and the need to wear 3D glasses to experience the effects. Besides, I have elderly parents and wasn’t sure how they would take to 3D glasses,” he points out.

So, why anyone should be interested in a 3D TV? It’s not that there are a large number of programmes in 3D available. And, if you want to watch movies in 3D, you will also need a BluRay 3D player and need to buy all your movies in BluRay 3D format. The manufacturers are not ready to hang up their boots on 3D technology. Perhaps that’s a reason why LG, Samsung, Toshiba, Sony and Panasonic are bringing in models where one doesn’t even have to wear 3D glasses and one can consume 2D content as 3D by just pushing a button on their remote. They are promoting the use of cheaper passive 3D glasses (that do not require to be charged and are lighter to wear). All this is expected to push the popularity of 3D TVs.

LG 55LM6700 3D TV
As far as flat panel displays go, 55-inch LG LM6700 is one of the most attractive models. Sporting a barely-there bezel (visible only near the bottom) and its metallic swivel stand, LM6700 has perhaps the most stunning 3D effects on a home television.

A striking feature of LM6700 is the remote, called Magic Remote, that includes just a handful of buttons working just like the Nintendo Wii controller.
